MoneySmart Teaching Professional Learning  - Via VCAA

F-10 teachers of AusVELS English, Mathematics and Science are encouraged to access MoneySmart Teaching, an initiative funded by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). MoneySmart Teaching has developed a range of teaching resources designed to help children and young people improve their levels of consumer and financial literacy. The VCAA is managing the MoneySmart Teaching project in Victoria. There are a range of teaching resources available and they are aligned to AusVELS. Professional learning opportunities include:
  • Free teacher professional development
  • All resources are made available to teachers attending the professional learning
  • Suitable for primary and secondary across all three sectors
This is a catered event including tea/coffee and morning tea (as usual we will be bringing our capsule coffee machine and milk frothers for all you coffee/hot chocolate officianados). 


Presentation content:

Part 1: MoneySmart Teaching and Financial Literacy.
  • Consumer and Financial Literacy education - why it is important
  • Teacher Wellbeing - professionally and personally
  • MoneySmart Teaching website and resources available

Part 2: Workshop
  • Explore the MoneySmart Teaching resources and/or units of work - hands-on group work.

All participants will also receive a USB flash drive with MST resources which includes:
  • MoneySmart Teaching Primary and Secondary units of work   
  • Teacher Guide and Facilitator Guide
  • Interactive digital learning resources 
  • Videos 

Cost:  FREE.
Date:  Tuesday 7 July 2015
Sign-in:  10.45am
Duration:  11.00am - 2.00pm (3 hours) - certificates supplied via post after presentation.

Venue:  The Seymour Club, 1 Elizabeth Street, Seymour





Bookings are now open for CRTs.  Any remaining places will be opened to non-CRTs at a later date.
